The Johannesburg Chapter
The Business Book Club was founded in April 2017 by Jacques Velleman, CEO of Centred, Experienced Corporate Business Coach, Strategist, Public Speaker and Entrepreneur. His passion and purpose - to share knowledge.
- To Promote Knowledge
- To Give & Share Unconditionally
- To make a difference in the SA economy by helping people to change their situation through knowledge
The Business Book Club meets monthly on the first Tuesday at a venue in the Fourways area. Since April 2018 TBBC is proud to announce that it formed a collaboration with GIBS Business School, Illovo and a second monthly meeting is held at this venue on the last Thursday of each month, specifically targeted to the GIBS Alumni.
A guest author is invited to showcase their book and share their knowledge. Through conversation with the author, interaction with the audience, and networking with entrepreneurs, knowledge is gained on how to grow and change in the business environment and gain leadership skills.
Attendees are requested (as an entry fee) to contribute a treasured used business or educational book which is then donated to a worthy cause - currently, The Signature Library, Soweto. The aim is to enable those less privileged, access to books to further their education and gain knowledge.
GIBS Alumni Book Club
In February 2018 a collaboration was formed between GIBS, Illovo and The Business Book Club to work together on the GIBS Alumni Book Club. This initiative was to host regular events at GIBS in conjunction with TBBC who would source guest authors for the events, and in turn generate book donations. To date, we have had the following authors: Vusi Thembekwayo & John Sanei
